Southwest Wetlands Focus Area
Focus Areas
Wetland Focus Areas in Colorado are
designated by the Colorado Division of
Wildlife. Currently, Colorado has 10 official Focus Areas, with the
Southwest Focus Area being the newest. Official designation was granted to
the Southwest Focus Area in August of 2001. The concept of Focus Areas is
part of the Colorado
Wetland Wildlife Conservation Program, and it is the Focus Areas that help to implement the goals
of the Colorado
Wetlands Program at a local level.
