Southwest Wetlands Focus Area
Conserve, enhance, and restore a range of wetland types found throughout the focus area
Maintain water quality, wetland and associated upland habitat for wildlife
Maintain cultural and historic features, including agriculture associated with wetlands
Maintain and, where possible, create connectivity between wetlands to enhance dispersal of wetland dependent species and to avoid fragmentation
Conserve, enhance, and restore wetland functionality
Conserve, enhance, and restore wetland biodiversity and population abundance
Identify landowners who may want to participate in wetland projects
Support inventories and monitoring

Use the diverse expertise of the Focus Area
Use the expertise and assistance of the Colorado Wetlands Program Coordinator
Where possible, use inventories to help prioritize projects
Assist in collecting baseline data prior to a project and monitoring after completion of a project
Assist in writing grant proposals
Support education through
